Appaloosa is a western movie staring Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen. And my god it was a good one!
The movie obviously is set in the old western times of the 1800's. Viggo and Ed's characters are pretty much the law where ever they go. They usually go to a town that has been outlawed by a gang of people and they put order back into the town. They are hired by the town as the law. They go by there own rules and anyone who decides to go against them usually gets killed.
Now at the beginning of the story you witness a murder. During the movie later on they try and solve the murder and put some justice to the killer. While that is happening they have several run In's by the killer and his gang. It does involve some blood shed and some pretty neat shoot outs.
The story is paced PERFECTLY! It starts with a pretty big bang and then it cools down a little and then it hits you again! Its pretty much action,story,action,story in PERFECT time frames. You never get bored with it and I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.
I highly suggest this movie if your into westerns. This year hasn't seen much westerns compared to last years amazing "3:10 To Yuma" and "The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford".
Ed Harris who stars and directs the movie delivers something special for the audience with a great cast, great acting, nice setting and an all around good story to tell.
I give Appaloosa a 8/10.
