Tropic Thunder has to be the funniest movie I have seen ALL year!
Tropic Thunder is a comedy that just doesn't let up. With an all star cast like Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black how can it go wrong? Not to mention small rolls by Tom Cruise, Mathew McConaughy and several others!
Tropic Thunder is a movie inside of a movie. A directors movie isn't doing to well in production... the actors just aren't feeling the war. So he gets advice to take his actors IN the jungle of Vietnam and shoot the film there. BUT the thing is the actors don't know there in a REAL jungle with REAL people. They think its all just another funny stunt.
From the second they get off the plane until the second they get back on Tropic Thunder keeps you laughing. Stiller directed this movie aswell and he knocked it out of the park. Its full of HILARIOUS scenes from all 3 main stars and even better scenes with Tom freaking Cruise( I don't wanna spoil it)
Not to mention its about WAR! So its full of violence both intentionally funny and unintentionally funny.
I must say the funniest parts were also the fake trailers aired BEFORE the movie. They had 4 trailers for each actors past "movies". They trailers were fake but they were hilarious! Some people didn't even know they were apart of the movie LMAO.
I cant really give a great review to this movie without giving away all of the funny stuff so I will just leave this short and simple. Tropic Thunder is the FUNNIEST movie of the summer if not the whole damn year! I urge you to go and see this!!
I give Tropic Thunder an 8.5/10
I'd say the first 10 minutes was the best part of the whole movie.
