Title: Be Kind Rewind
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: June 17th, 2008(On Blu-Ray Disc)
Genre: Comedy
Be Kind Rewind is a smaller budget comedy movie starring Jack Black and Mos Def. Also featuring Danny Glover. Now the story of this film is pretty simple. Danny Glover olds an old video tape rental store in a small little neighborhood. Its a simple 1 dollar a day thing. He leaves town to scope out some of the bigger rental stores that went to DVD and he left Mos Def's character in charge of the store. Everything is working fine. But of course Jack's character is a weirdo. He likes to try and mess with the local power plant and he gets electrocuted. Which causes him to have some sort of magnetic Field. So he walks into the store and messes up all the tapes and when someone comes in to check on how there doing they realize they need to make movies for there customers to enjoy.
They make a few films and the people love them and ask for more! They make more and more but eventually run into the FBI laws and how there tapes could be destroyed.
From there on out theres tons of laughs and heart warming moments.
The movie didn't live up to all the comedy I thought it would be but it was a great one in the end.
I give the movie a 7/10
The picture quality on this Blu Ray Disc was pretty good. Released by New Line Cinema which is owned by Warner Bros. The picture for the most part is clear with nice vibrant greens and the occasional grainy screen. While its not the most stunning picture its still a wonderful transfer.
I give the picture quality a 7/10
The audio is 7.1. I am not really good and judging the audio as I don't have a full surround sound setup but from what I heard it was fairly decent for what the movie was.
I give the audio quality 7/10.
The disc is loaded with special features and a few more then the DVD. But not too many to keep you there for hours.
I give the bonus content a 7/10.
So overall this Blu-Ray disc is an enjoyable film with a nice picture and sound and a fair amount of extras. This film comes with an average recommendation so if your sitting there one afternoon looking for a nice simple comedy. This would be the one to see.
Overall score: 7/10(average)
