Ok I decided to make this thread because of recent events, I smoke and have done for years, recently I was at a party and one of my good friends (which I was surprised at) asked me to move away from her when I was smoking outside. The issue that I have is that I was outside first chilling with friends and was smoking there before she came outside, she came over to us and told me to go away because I was smoking, the fact that was already smoking and that I was already there surely would mean that she obviously knew I was smoking so could've chose to come over later?

You're right that she should've moved first and not you. Whenever I'm around friends that smoke and I don't want the smell on me, I always make an effort to move away.

I got my gf to stop smoking, and I'd just rather not be around it.

I hate people like that. I understand that some people don't want the smell of smoke on them, but by god nobody is going to tell me not to smoke in my car, my house, or around my friends (which most of them smoke)
She didn't have a right to say anything to you when she was the one that came over there. I completely agree with you. Plus, you were outside.
I'm trying to quit smoking and started smoking e-cigarettes. They're amazing but I really, really miss smoking cigarettes. I would love to stand beside you anytime you smoke just because I miss that smell, A LOT. =(

Hah! Well yeah I am one of those that say, 'I'm gonna quit'.............do I??? Wellll I'm smoking right now so I guess that's a no Haha I haven't had one in about three weeks now. Seriously if you REALLY want to quit, ecigarettes totally help that. I understand that people have their opinions about smoking, as they should. But I don't think it's okay to force those opinions on someone else. That's like a smoker trying to convince a nonsmoker to smoke. It's just stupid.
